So I finally got approved for my Ad Op and they got snached up real quick. Only one was by a USA Blog the rest where in Asia. Nothing wrong with that links are color blind. Some things that i will point out here though:

 1. All the websites where PR0
 2. Most were free Bloger Blogs or wordpress.com blogs (5 of the 6)
 3. I did receive a small amount of traffic from them. Most likly them checking the link.

If you do use the Pay Per Post service i would say to set the Page Rank up to at least 2. These blogs will be willing to take the minimum pay out and are most likly on the rise. Some of the blogs that i got posts from are there just to post for PPP and may not be there next week.

Wow. This has left me speechless... almost! ;)

While I don't know if I deserve to be among those ranks (yet) I do always try to find something new and interesting to talk about. I knew from the beginning that there were already a lot of search engine optimization and internet marketing blogs, so I knew I had to do something different and appeal to a different audience than the typical SEO/SEM blog. Find a niche - then fill it.

I agree entirely. For people new to this, it seems like an easy way to get traffic and links, but it could end up hurting you in the long run.

You have a very valid point in that if the comment is spamy in nature then its wrong. It as so is not doing your clients any good. If i where to pay for comments on blogs there would be diffinet guidlines to insure quality after all its my sites reputation that is going into that comment.

And for you New SEOs and DIYers out there i think the point to take away from this thread is this. If it looks like, smells like, (don't taste it that would be a shortbus thing) SPAM Don't do it

Thanks for the mention. I can see your point that there is a certain value to doing this - but I guess what I meant to imply is that risk and detriment it could do to your reputation outweighs any value it could have if say, for example, you were discovered. I just really don't like the idea of my blog being part of some database and that people would make money by clogging it with paid comments. I should start a database of people who use that service.

Comment on Auto Link Requests by admin

Second Follow up:

I have to amened that last comment as i found a problem with my mail app. I resent the email request and did get a better delivery rate. about 55 emails did reach a good address this time. I got 2 responses: 1 was a question about what equipment i used. Not sure what that was about. 2nd response was positive in that i got a reply from a nice lady that said that she would talk to her webmaster about adding a link. That was 4 weeks ago and i have not heard back.

During that time i have averaged a link every other day. I think that is proof enough even for me.

First follow up:

I got 72 delivery errors out of 73 and 1 auto respond that said "Due to the large amount of email......." Well i think you get the picture. So where does this leave the auto mailers. I think i could have gotten at least 5 links manually by the time it took to do all this.
